FAQs

I am visiting from outside of the village – where can I park?

There will be free parking available at The Press, Station Road, Foxton, CB22 6SA. This is best approached via Shepreth Road or Station Road. We kindly request that you do not park in the streets as this will cause unhelpful obstructions for people moving through the village.

Is there designated Blue Badge parking?

There is a small amount of parking at the Village Hall, Hardman Road,  CB22 6RN which we will demarcate as Blue Badge parking however this will not be marshalled so we are unable to guarantee a space.

Do I need to buy tickets?

This is not a ticketed event, however, we expect those attending to purchase a programme which will cost £5. Programmes can be shared by a family.

Where can I buy a programme?

They will be available from The Press car park (CB22 6SA), the Village Shop (CB22 6RQ) and the Village Hall (CB22 6RN). Card and cash purchases will be possible

What sort of activities will be happening?

The programme will provide you will a map of where all the scarecrows are located in the village. There will be an opportunity to vote for the ‘people’s choice best scarecrow’, and there will also be a prize for the most traditional scarecrow. Alongside this there will be a covers band, folk groups, and singer songwriter performances in our music barn (new for this year!), music performances in the church, and children’s activities. Around the village you will find various fund-raising activities and games.

What food and drink will be available?

There will be tea, coffee, soft drinks and homemade cakes served in the Village Hall. Bacon butties and home-made soup will be provided in the Music Barn, where there will also be a bar serving beer, wine and soft drinks. The White Horse pub will be open as usual. Card and cash purchases will be possible at all venues.

Can I drive around the village to see the scarecrows?

Foxton is a small village and our preference is that most people walk around to see the scarecrows to avoid congestion and make sure the village is as safe as possible. If you are unable to walk we are happy for you to drive slowly and carefully, but still require you to purchase a programme.

I live in Foxton. How can I get involved?

We would love to hear from you if you would like to make a scarecrow and/or run a fundraising activity.

If you could offer an hour or two during the afternoon to help out, please go to the Contact us page and send us a message.
